Where to Watch Football in Berlin: The Best Sports Bars

Saturday afternoon is where a simple football plan can go wrong in Berlin. The Bundesliga starts at 15:30, a Premier League match may begin at 16:00, and the board outside a bar only says “live sport.” You get a drink, look up, and discover that your match is on the smallest screen without sound.
My advice is to choose a bar for the exact fixture, not just for the competition. Check the venue's programme on the day, ask which screen will carry your match, and arrive earlier when popular teams play at once. The eight places below do not all make the same promise.
A Berlin football night works best when you confirm the exact match before joining the crowd.
The short answer: where should you watch?
For the widest choice near the historic centre, start with Kilkenny at Hackescher Markt or Belushi's near Alexanderplatz. Kilkenny names the Premier League, Champions League, Europa League and Bundesliga on its official sports page. The Alexanderplatz branch of Belushi's explicitly promotes the Premier League and Champions League and advertises 13 HD televisions and a giant screen.
For a football-first setting, look at FC Magnet in Mitte or Tante Käthe by Mauerpark. FC Magnet's calendar was stale when checked. Tante Käthe has four screens, selected international games and a non-smoking policy.
That is the quick orientation, not a guarantee. I use three different confidence levels in this guide:
Listed for this match: the venue has put the exact fixture on its current programme.
Usually shows this competition: the venue officially names the league or tournament, but the exact match is not yet listed.
Ask first: the bar may be able to show it, but there is no current first-party promise for your fixture.
Eight football bars in Berlin worth checking
Kilkenny Irish Pub, Hackescher Markt: several big screens for the Premier League, Champions League, Europa League and Bundesliga. Reservations are available, but the terrace cannot be reserved.
FC Magnet Bar, Mitte: a football-first bar where match reservations are not possible. Its accessible calendar was stale at the 27 August check, so contact the venue for the exact fixture.
Tante Käthe, by Mauerpark: four screens for German and European competitions plus selected English, Spanish and Italian matches. The pub is officially non-smoking.
Blarney Pub, Kreuzberg: a dated exact-match list for competitions including the Bundesliga and Premier League. It opens early for some early games.
Country Cheers, Strausberger Platz: televisions plus two large screens, with the Bundesliga conference or a top match. Smoking is allowed, entry is 18+, and football has a €12 minimum consumption per person.
Belushi's Alexanderplatz: 13 HD televisions, a giant screen and English-speaking staff. The branch explicitly promotes Premier League and Champions League coverage and provides a booking link.
The Irish Pub Berlin, beside Uber Arena: multiple big screens for the Bundesliga, Premier League, Champions League and Europa League, plus food and daily live music.
The Lir, near S Bellevue: a large HD screen for the Premier League, Champions League, “Euro League” and Bundesliga highlights. Its current broadcast list is on Facebook.
The list was checked against venue-owned pages on 27 August 2026. Programmes and house rules can change, so check again before travelling.
Kilkenny Irish Pub: the practical Mitte choice
Kilkenny's official sports programme says it shows the Premier League, Champions League, Europa League and Bundesliga on several big screens. The pub sits inside the Hackescher Markt S-Bahn arches.
The pub has an official reservation page. The terrace cannot be reserved, and groups over six should email. Name the fixture in your request. The programme may change, and food is served during matches until 23:00.
Kilkenny sits directly at S Hackescher Markt, making it one of the simplest football options to reach from central Berlin.

FC Magnet Bar: football-first, but verify directly
FC Magnet's fixture page is designed to list individual matches, and the venue is at Veteranenstraße 26 in Mitte. However, the newest entries accessible during the 27 August 2026 check were from March and April 2026. Do not treat that stale calendar as confirmation for a current fixture.
The official site states that reservations are not possible during games. Contact the venue directly, then arrive before the room fills. Do not build a group plan around getting a table at kick-off.
Tante Käthe: a football pub beside Mauerpark
Tante Käthe's own page describes four screens and ten table-football tables. It says the pub shows the first and second Bundesliga, European cup football, the DFB-Pokal and selected matches from England, Spain and Italy. It also names club communities that gather there and says it shows every Liverpool match.
It is explicitly non-smoking. Still check the current programme for your fixture, especially for La Liga or another selected international match.

Blarney Pub: a programme that answers the real question
Blarney Pub's sports page publishes a dated list of exact fixtures. When checked on 27 August 2026, it included Bundesliga and Premier League matches and noted earlier opening times for selected early kick-offs.
Blarney is on Methfesselstraße in Kreuzberg, near U Platz der Luftbrücke. It is a good candidate when your priority is a listed match and you do not need to stay in Mitte. If two fixtures appear at the same time, ask which one receives the main screen and sound.
Country Cheers: useful for Bundesliga, but read the house rules
Country Cheers is directly on Karl-Marx-Allee near U Strausberger Platz. Its official page describes televisions plus two large screens and says staff can switch between different sporting events when reception allows. For football, it specifically promises the Bundesliga conference or the top match of the day.
Smoking is permitted, entry is 18+, and the stated minimum consumption during football is €12 per person. Card payment starts at €15, and the bar does not run a full food offer.
U Strausberger Platz puts Country Cheers on a direct U5 ride from Alexanderplatz and Berlin Hauptbahnhof.

Belushi's Alexanderplatz: many screens and an international crowd
Belushi's Alexanderplatz page advertises 13 HD televisions, a giant screen, food, English-speaking staff and a booking option. The branch page explicitly promotes the Premier League and Champions League.
This makes Belushi's a strong first check for visitors who want an English-friendly central bar or a group booking. The trade-off is that many sports and teams can compete for those screens. Use the date filter or contact the venue with the exact match, then ask whether it will have sound.
The Irish Pub Berlin: football beside Uber Arena
The Irish Pub Berlin's programme says it shows the Bundesliga, Premier League, Champions League and Europa League on multiple big screens. It is directly beside Uber Arena in Friedrichshain and serves pub food. The venue also advertises live music every day and reserves the right to change its programme.
Ask whether the match will have sound when live music is scheduled.
The Irish Pub is beside the arena complex, within walking distance of S and U Warschauer Straße.
The Lir: a big-screen option near Bellevue
The Lir's sports page names football, rugby and other events on a large HD screen. It specifically mentions the Premier League, Champions League, “Euro League” and Bundesliga highlights, while directing visitors to its Facebook page for the current live broadcast list.
The pub is on Flensburger Straße near S Bellevue. Treat it as a good Tiergarten-side candidate, then verify the exact fixture through the current list or by contacting the venue. “Bundesliga highlights” is not the same claim as every live Bundesliga match.
Where to watch each major competition
Premier League
Sky's current German Premier League page says its deal runs through 2030/31, with all 380 matches available in full and more than 280 shown live. Sky's rights release says public showing is included through Sky Business. The venue still decides its screens.
My first check would be Blarney when the exact game appears in its dated programme. Kilkenny, Belushi's and The Irish Pub are multi-screen alternatives. Tante Käthe is especially relevant for Liverpool supporters because its own page says it shows every Liverpool match. Contact FC Magnet directly because its accessible calendar was stale.
Champions League
DAZN's current German plan lists 186 Champions League matches including its conference, while Prime Video's competition explainer describes its selected Tuesday top match. Those are consumer rights. DAZN says a normal subscription cannot be used in a pub and that commercial venues need DAZN For Business. A home-viewing list therefore cannot confirm a bar's package or your exact match.
Kilkenny, Belushi's, The Irish Pub and The Lir explicitly name the Champions League, while Tante Käthe describes European cup coverage. FC Magnet requires direct confirmation because its calendar was stale. For simultaneous matches, confirm your club and screen.
Bundesliga
The Bundesliga's official rights notice says Sky carries the individual Friday and Saturday matches, while DAZN carries the Saturday conference and the Sunday games in the 2025/26 to 2028/29 cycle. This is why “the Bundesliga” can mean an individual match in one pub and the conference in another.
Blarney's current fixture list is particularly useful. Country Cheers explicitly describes a conference or top-match approach. Kilkenny, Tante Käthe and The Irish Pub also name the Bundesliga, while The Lir's page only promises highlights. Ask for the exact club if you do not want the conference.
La Liga and Europa League
La Liga is easier to find than many visitors expect, but it is less automatic than the Premier League. DAZN's official rights announcement covers Germany from 2026/27 to 2030/31. Tante Käthe says it shows selected Spanish matches. The wider Belushi's network promotes La Liga, but confirm that your fixture is assigned to the Alexanderplatz branch.
For the Europa League, RTL's official announcement covers Germany through 2026/27. RTL's matchday model includes a selected free-to-air match and up to ten combined Europa League and Conference League games across its services. Sky and WOW also carry selected matches, but current Sky pages conflict on the exact allocation, so that number remains unknown. Kilkenny, The Irish Pub and The Lir name the competition or “Euro League,” and Tante Käthe covers European cup football. Confirm the exact match.
What to ask when two matches overlap
Do not send a bar a message saying only, “Are you showing football?” Send the fixture, date and kick-off time. These four questions remove most of the uncertainty:
Are you showing this exact match live?
Will it be on a large screen or a smaller television?
Will the match have sound, and in which commentary language?
Can I reserve a table with a view of that screen?
Commentary language is otherwise unknown. Some German services offer more than one audio feed, but the venue decides which feed it uses. Never assume an English-speaking bar means English commentary.
For a major final or a match involving Bayern, Dortmund, Union Berlin, Hertha, Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester United, Barcelona or Real Madrid, I would arrive 45 to 60 minutes early unless the venue confirms a reservation. FC Magnet is the clearest case because match reservations are not accepted there.
Getting home after a late kick-off
A 21:00 European match usually finishes close to 23:00, and extra time can push the night later. Choose the bar partly by the journey home. Kilkenny is beside the S-Bahn, Belushi's is close to Alexanderplatz, Country Cheers is on the U5, The Irish Pub is near Warschauer Straße, and The Lir is near S Bellevue.
Berlin transport runs differently overnight and on weekends. Check the route again after the final whistle, especially if extra time has taken you past the connection you planned. Stadium or sports bar?
If your real goal is to experience Berlin football culture, a bar is not a substitute for a home match at Olympiastadion or Stadion An der Alten Försterei. It is a different plan. A pub gives you several leagues, a central location and a lower planning barrier. A stadium gives you the local crowd, ticket rules, security checks and a journey built around one club.

The one move that saves the evening
Pick two venues, not one. Make the first your preferred atmosphere or location and the second a nearby fallback. On the day, look for your exact fixture on the official programme. If it is not listed, contact the bar with the team names and kick-off time. Then ask about the screen and sound.
That small check is more useful than any permanent ranking of Berlin's “best” sports bars. The rights change, programmes change and the biggest match in the room changes. Your exact fixture is the stable question.
