Yes — there is no fixed price for the tour. Berlin Walk operates on a tip-based model. You join the tour for free and at the end, you tip whatever you feel the experience was worth. This keeps the tour accessible to everyone while giving the guide direct motivation to deliver a great experience every time.

The tour covers 12 stops through Berlin's historic city center, from Alexanderplatz to Hackescher Markt. You'll see the TV Tower, Neptune Fountain, Rotes Rathaus, St. Mary's Church, the Marienviertel, Marx-Engels Forum, Liebknecht Bridge, Humboldt Forum, Berliner Dom, Museum Island (Altes Museum, Neues Museum & Alte Nationalgalerie), Friedrichsbrücke, and Hackescher Markt. The route covers 800 years of history — medieval origins, Prussian grandeur, GDR-era urban planning, and modern-day Berlin.

The tour lasts approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes and covers about 3 kilometers on foot. It's a comfortable pace with plenty of stops for stories and photos.

The tour is conducted entirely in English.

This is an outdoor walking tour — we don't go inside museums or ticketed attractions. However, we stop in front of each landmark and your guide will share the history, architecture, and stories behind what you're seeing. After the tour, you're welcome to visit any of the sites on your own — your guide can recommend which ones are most worth the entrance fee.

This tour focuses on Berlin's medieval-to-modern city center — the historic heart of the city from Alexanderplatz to Hackescher Markt. While we discuss Berlin's division, the Cold War, and the GDR throughout the tour, we do not walk past the remaining Wall sections. If you're interested in the Wall specifically, the East Side Gallery and Checkpoint Charlie are both easily reachable by public transport from our start or end points.

There's no right or wrong amount — tip whatever you feel the experience was worth. Most travelers tip between €5 and €20 per person. If you're on a tight budget, even a small tip is appreciated and meaningful. If you had a fantastic time, a generous tip is the best compliment a guide can receive. Tips are collected in cash at the end of the tour.
